Scouting Report: Tyson Alualu

April 5, 2010

Tyson Alualu, DE, Cal, 6’2, 295 lbs

Strengths: Non-stop motor … Among the faster Defensive Ends … Penetrates the pocket better than any other prospect … Strong and powerful … Simply violent … Never misses tackles … Is very agile, but balanced … Stout at the point of attack … Perfect level of aggression … Hard worker and a team leader … Very durable … Can play DT or DE.

Weaknesses: Will need to work on his leverage … Does not have ideal size … Has great hand movements but doesn’t always use them to help … Needs more fluid hips … Isn’t exactly “explosive” … Iffy production in college.

Overview: There aren’t any players I would like to see added to the Broncos defensive line rotation that Alualu. Last year during the stretch before the draft, I fell in love with Jarron Gilbert out of San Jose State at Defensive End. I would say that Alualu is this years Gilbert. He is the full package, and would be a God-send on our defense. Besides, McD is always looking for depth.

2nd to 3rd rounder
