Brady Quinn To Denver?

March 14, 2010

Fox News’ Jay Glazer is reporting right now that Browns QB Brady Quinn has been traded to the Denver Broncos in exchange for Peyton Hillis and two conditional draft picks.

From twitter: “@Jay_Glazer: I’m reporting brady quinn was just traded to denver for peyton hillis and 2 conditional draft picks.” The Browns recently signed Jake Delhomme to play Quarterback for them, putting the former first round pick in an unfortunate situation. It has been rumored now for days he would be traded this week.

Quinn has history in an offense similar to that of Josh McDaniels. When he played for Notre Dame in college, he was coached by Charlie Weis who worked with McDaniels in New England as an Offensive Coordinator. Obviously this is big news.

If so, we don’t know where this will mean for Kyle Orton. Will Quinn play backup? Will he start? More news will definitely appear through the day so we’ll keep you updated.

UPDATE: Pending a physical, the move is official according to the Broncos.

    Hello Garrett:

Originally you were high on the Broncos getting Brady Quinn (When the Cutler trade was going on). Last year you seemed to cool on the idea of the Broncos picking him up (another year to learn bad habits etc.). Has your opinion changed?

I think he is a good pickup for the price.

My opinion on Quinn still hasn’t changed. I think that he has a vast amount of potential, and with the right coaching he could be a real star in the NFL. What has changed, is I think Kyle Orton is better now than I thought he was then, when I liked the idea of picking up Quinn. McDaniels now has a good chance to develop a QB with first round talent, while not using a first round pick.
