Deal Not Imminent for Marshall

March 6, 2010

ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that while the Seahawks are bringing in Brandon Marshall today, it does not mean that they are necessarily going to sign an offer sheet for Marshall. Schefter has labeled this meeting as more of a “get to know you” one.

This is nothing that we didn’t already know. I don’t think anyone who has been following the deal closely thought that it was as simple as him coming in and walking out with a new deal and a new team. There will be plenty more discussions before he leaves Denver and it may come in the form of a trade or an offer sheet.

In fact, the only thing that this does is give more time for other teams to get into the mix and therefore raise his value. Anquan Boldins trade definitely didn’t help his stock.

We’ll keep you updated on Marshalls and the Seahawks progress throughout the day over at the free agent tracker. Just click on the banner below. Because, let’s face it, could we really be pimping this tracker any more? So please click:

I really don’t know what to think here. On one hand I’m tired of Marshall’s off the field issues, yet he is a “Beast” on the field, a playmaker that we can not stand to lose. Yet we can also recieve great compensation for him. I’m also glad to see that MCD is trying to beef up our line. 🙂

No team is going to up a #1 draft choice for Marshall. Where’s all the taker’s? Either Denver is going to have to lower the asking price or you’ll have an unhappy player back. One that said he hates your F***ing city.
