Scouting Report: Mike Iupati

February 14, 2010

Mike Iupati, OG, Idaho

Strengths: Good fit for a power blocking system … Rarely gets pushed around at the line of scrimmage … Has very good pre-snap awareness … Iupati has excellent footwork and a quick outside step … Aggressive off the snap … Gets great leverage against his opponents … Fights well with his hand … Keeps a good base and doesn’t get pushed back.

Weaknesses: Tends to move around too much instead of staying in his area … Sometimes hesitates getting off of the line of scrimmage … When his target is on the move, he is sometimes weak … Has played mainly lesser competition.

Overall: Mike Iupati is by far the most talented Offensive Guard in his class. He is a likely first round pick and might very well be taken in the top 20 picks in the draft. His excellent footwork and his aggressiveness off the snap, are by far his most powerful attributes and would fit right into the Broncos power blocking system, should they draft him.

Robert Norris from small Morgan State will be a ture steal in the draft. He played at Virgina Tech and was there with Ed Wang and Sergio Render. He has Great feet and he is very strong high oline I.Q.. Would be a great fit for the power blocking system as well….Dont sleep on this kid….he is as good as any lineman in this draft, just coming from a small school.
