5 Broncos to Play in Pro Bowl Tonight

January 31, 2010

Tonight at 7:20 p.m Eastern Time, the NFL Pro Bowl will be played. This will be the first ever time in NFL history where the NFL will be played not only in the same city as the Super Bowl, but it will be played the week in between the Conference Championships and the Super Bowl.

While the Broncos of course will not be participating in the Super Bowl, 5 Broncos will play in the NFL Pro Bowl, and 4 of them will start. The 5 players are WR Brandon Marshall, LT Ryan Clady, LB Elvis Dumervil, S Brian Dawkins and CB Champ Bailey.

Champ Bailey will be the only of the 5 not starting, in favor of Darrelle Revis, (understandable), and Nnamdi Asomugha.

I’m excited to see this many Broncos in the Pro Bowl, so here are some things to watch for from our good ol’ Broncos:

Brandon Marshall, with the exception of Andre Johnson is the best Wide Receiver in the game. It’s been a year since he’s played with a gunslinger for a Quarterback like Matt Shaub or Vince Young so you can expect to see a lot of passes from him and some big plays.

Elvis Dumervil will be playing alternate Jason Peters who manhandled him when we played the Eagles. With a little time to rest, you can expect some different results from him.

As for the rest, I think we’ll see consistency. Champ Bailey and Brian Dawkins aren’t going to be making any big plays but shouldn’t have any big mistakes either. They know what it is like to be here, and I can’t wait to see these old pros rock it out on the field today.
