Scouting Report: Harry Coleman

January 23, 2010

Harry Coleman, S, LSU

Strengths: Fast for a Safety … Is excellent in pursuit … Solid tackler … Contributes a lot to the run game … Good size with long arms … Very fit …Can hit hard … Special teams potential … Active with a strong motor … Has a scary on-field demeanor, quiet off field.

Weaknesses: Has very poor tackling technique … Not always tight in coverage … Doesn’t always show good instincts/awareness … Has never once picked off a ball in his 4 year college career … Questionable in man coverage … Hips aren’t fluid.

Overall: Harry Coleman will have a problem when he enters the NFL. While very talented, he lacks a true position. He isn’t excellent in coverage and while he is a strong tackler, he doesn’t have the size to play Linebacker. Coleman may be limited his entire career to playing special teams and backup Safety. He could be a good player, but will never be a star.
