Bob Wylie Hired As O-Line Coach

January 22, 2010

Yesterday, the Broncos announced their hiring of Bob Wylie as the Offensive Line coach, after Rick Dennisons’ leave to the Houston Texans.

Surprisingly, his hiring has come out of nowhere. Wylie previously was the assistant coach of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. C0lorado sports fans might know him from when he coached Offensive Line at Colorado State earlier in his career.

His credentials in the NFL involve coaching seven Pro Bowl offensive linemen in his previous NFL stops in Arizona, Tampa Bay and Chicago. He also coached tight ends for Cincinnati and spent two years as a Jets assistant.

I have absolutely no knowledge of Wylie as a coach, but he seems to have solid credentials and if he can get it done, then good hire McDaniels.

UPDATE: Tight Ends coach Clancy Barone will split Offensive Line duties with Wylie. This can put a lot of fans at ease, because Barone is by far one of the best Tight End coaches in the business and will do a great job of working on the Line here.
