Scouting Report: Vladimir Ducasse

January 11, 2010

Vladimir Ducasse, OT/OG, Massachusetts, 6’4, 332 lbs

Strengths: Very strong … Gets extremely physical … Stout at the point of attack and can anchor an Offensive Line … Quite athletic, and very agile … Light on his feet for 332 lbs … Fires off of the snap with authority … Really aggressive … Durable … Has a good amount of upside.

Weaknesses: Isn’t consistent with his leverage … Needs to work on his footwork … Doesn’t mirror his opponent very well … His instincts and awareness are not great … Isn’t always focus … He doesn’t seem very competitive.

Overview: I like the fact that Ducasse could play as either an Offensive Tackle or Offensive Guard. He’s very strong and will bully defenders at the line of scrimmage but he is so raw, I would have trouble drafting him in the first two rounds. He needs to refine his footwork, his leverage and he needs to learn to play more consistently. He has lots of potential though, and good upside.
