Moreno, Buckhalter Win Awards

December 11, 2009

The Broncos in their routing of the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday showed great prowess in the run game, as rookie Knowshon Moreno scored two times and veteran running back Correll Buckhalter averaged nearly 10 yards per carry and had an 100 yard game.

Their great performances have been recognized by the NFL too, as they both won fans choice awards. Knowshon Moreno won the Diet Pepsi rookie of the week which goes to the most outstanding rookie from that week and Buckhalter won the FedEx Ground player of the week, awarded to the best running back from that week.

This was Morenos’ fourth rookie of the week award, more than any other Running Back in the NFL. He is also a favorite for the Diet Pepsi Rookie of the Year Award.

On the other hand, this is Correll Buckhalters first FedEx Ground Player of the week award, even though he was nominated in week 3. He has been an excellent compliment to Knowshon Moreno so far this season.

Congratulations to both Correll and Knowshon. Hopefully, they can play just as well on Sunday. We are certainly going to need it when we play the Indianapolis Colts.
