Scouting Report: Bryan Bulaga

December 1, 2009

Bryan Bulaga, OT, Iowa, 6’5, 315 pounds

Strengths: Optimum size for an Offensive Tackle prospect … Has very nimble feet … A textbook pass blocker … Doesn’t get beat on a bull rush … Moves well laterally … Counters hand move actions nicely … Very strong, has shown improvement there … Picks up blitzes well … Redirects linemen … Has a pretty big nasty streak.

Weaknesses: Still has questionable run blocking skills … Very serious medical concerns … Needs to block better in space … Doesn’t always get to the second level … Not as experienced as some of the other Tackle’s in this class.

Overview: Bryan Bulaga is a really talented player and one of my favorite Tackles in the class. While he has had problems against the run, and doesn’t have an abundance of film on him, he could probably be immediately plugged in as either a Left or a Right Tackle. He will probably land in the middle of the second round, where he is a great value.

1st rounder
