Scouting Report: Danario Alexander

November 17, 2009

Danario Alexander, WR, Mizzou, 6’5, 215

Strengths: Very tall … Excellent ball skills … Soft hands … Powerful runner, can get plenty of YAC … Has really good leaping ability … Spins off of tacklers … Tough to tackle in open space … Very physical runner … Is a rangy athlete … Has some upside … VERY productive.

Weaknesses: I’m really concerned about his durability … Not that fast downfield  … Doesn’t have much of a burst … Has been very limited to screen routes … Doesn’t run routes well enough … Not elusive enough … Can’t play return man.

Overview: For the most part I like Danario Alexander. He has a lot of potential as a number 2 receiver, and even reminds me a bit of a slower Randy Moss. BUT- he’s not durable, not fast, and can’t run routes well at all. His stats, which passed 1,700 yards are exaggerated because of the system that Mizzou plays with. He’s a decent player, but shouldn’t go any higher than the 3rd round.

3rd to 4th rounder
