Scouting Report: Koa Misi

October 12, 2009

Koa Misi, DE/OLB, Utah, 6’2, 251 lbs

Strengths: Very athletic … Has elite speed for a Linebacker … Is extremely explosive off of the line … Uses his hands very well … Always gives excellent effort on the field … Has fluid hips … Is quick and agile … Reliable tackler … Extremely versatile.

Weaknesses: Isn’t the right size for Defensive End or Outside Linebacker … He doesn’t have that great awareness … Didn’t have good production in college … A few durability concerns … May not have a position that’s right for him.

Overview: Koa Misi is one of my favorite sleepers in the draft. He is an excellent athlete who is every bit as fast as he is strong. He can play a lot of different positions in the NFL, but that may be the problem. He is a jack of all trades and a master of none. He may not have a true position at the next level. I like what I see for the most part though, and he could be a solid hybrid linebacker.

2nd to 3rd rounder
