Buckhalter and Moreno Both Up For Awards

September 29, 2009

Correll BuckhalterThe Broncos have a two headed monster of a rushing attack, and to our pleasant surprise, both heads are up for awards this week. Correll Buckhalter, is up for the FedEx Ground Award this week which is given to the best running back of the week and Knowshon Moreno is up for the Diet Pepsi Rookie of the Week which goes to the rookie who that week had the most outstanding game.

Knowshon Moreno had 21 carries for 90 yards and one touchdown in Denver’s 23-3 win over the Oakland Raiders and Buckhalter rushed 14 times for 108 yards in win. It was his first 100-yard rushing day since 2007.

The Broncos running game is back and is scary. Make sure you vote for them both, and do it a lot too. Last year the Broncos had more rookie of the weeks than any other team. Let’s see if we can keep doing the same with Knowshon Moreno.

As for Correll Buckhalter, if he wins, FedEx will make a $1,000 donation in his name to the local Safe Kids USA coalition in Denver to help fund child and pedestrian safety.  Voting ends at noon Eastern Time on Friday. So make sure you vote!

Am I the only one who thinks that we are handing it of to KnoMo too much. I think that we need to really focus more on Buck. He’s the one averging 7 yards a carry. I like Moreno, but we have to what’s going to win and Buck is what is helping us win.

I don’t think we are handing it off to him too much, but I do think that we could put a bit more focus on Buck, if he continues this kind of play.

because KnoMo is smashing, Buck is being able to go dashing… if you get my drift, the two back combo is great for wearing down and running all over ‘D’s
