Broncos Name Practice Squad.

September 6, 2009

dariusThe Broncos today named their practice squad. And actually, after a lot of controversy, Darius Walker ended up being eligible for the practice squad. There are some changes between how Josh McDaniels uses the practice and how it is much different from what Mike Shanahan did. We’ll talk about them after the jump.

But first, here is the list of players that made the practice squad, besides Darius Walker: TE Marquez Branson, CB Tony Carter, G Mitch Erickson, CB D.J. Johnson, ILB Braxton Kelley, DL Everette Pedescleaux, and WR Matthew Willis.

For those of you who remember, Mike Shanhan would have no more than 4 players at any time on his practice squad. As you can see from above, McDaniels takes full advantage of the practice squad and will fill it to the max.

I will say this, I am very happy that Darius Walker will stay with the Broncos. He is one of my favorite unknowns and am glad to see him on the team: scout or not.
