Broncos Sign Holliday

September 5, 2009

Picture 3The Broncos today worked out Defensive End Vonnie Holliday, formerly of the Miami Dolphins. Now, The Denver Post is reporting that they have signed him.

Holliday for over a decade has been considered an elite Defensive End. He has played for the Chiefs, Dolphins and Packers while compiling over 50 sacks. Last season he was limited to only three though in Miami.

He’s versatile so he can play wherever the team decides to play him,” said Holliday’s agent Cary Fabrikant. “He’s an extremely talented football player who’s been a starter for long periods of time. He’s familar with the defense.”

He is expected to replace LeKevin Smith who has recently suffered a leg injury. It has been speculated that Smith will be put on the PUP List.
