Broncos Looking at Holliday, Cut 3.

September 5, 2009

Picture 2The Denver Broncos decided today to take another look at 3-4 Defensive Linemen Vonnie Holliday. This will be the second time this year that the Broncos have taken in the free agent to work him out.

The former Dolphin/Chief/Packer has been very productive throughout his long NFL career. He has had over 350 tackles and 50 sacks, making him by far our most productive Linemen, if/when we sign him.

It is expected that he would either play back-up or replace Ryan McBean on the line. Another potential scenario is that he would start over Le-Kevin Smith who we recently traded for.

broncosbarIn other news, the Broncos released 3 players. Last night they released Cornerback Joshua Bell who played nickel cornerback for Mike Shanahan.

This morning, they released Everette Pedescleaux and Darius Walker.

I am very, very, very disappointed we cut Darius Walker. He clearly played better than half of our other Running Backs throughout the pre-season and I think the only reason he was cut is because his name is not LaMont Jordan.

That said, I would be very surprised if he didn’t make the practice squad, which he is eligible for.
