Scouting Report: Tim Tebow

August 20, 2009

Tim Tebow, QB, Florida

Strengths: Average height and weight, that won’t affect him much at the next level … Has a strong arm … Athletic, has excellent speed … Will pick up yards after contact … Throws a good deep pass … Great character, good leader.

Weaknesses: Isn’t a good “classic Quarterback” … Shows awful footwork … He has bad touch and doesn’t throw a “smooth ball” … Plays in a non-pro like offense … Name me one Florida Quarterback who’s had a successful NFL career.

Overall: The boom or bust prospect of the decade? Probably. Tim Tebow reminds every single scout in the NFL of Michael Vick. The difference is that he has great character. The two are strikingly similar and so the question on draft day for teams will be this: Do I want Tim Tebow as a Quarterback or as another position player? If they decide Quarterback, he may sneak into the first round. If not, the second or third round will be more likely.

4stars1st Rounder
