Moreno, Broncos Closing In on a Deal

August 6, 2009

Picture 1Two reports, one from Adam Schefters’ Twitter Page and another from Mike Klis of the Denver Post, are suggesting that the Broncos and Knowshon Moreno are very close to finishing a deal that would lock the first round pick up for 5 years.

It is expected that the deal would be for $22 million dollars with a guarantee of $12 million which is about 2 million more than Brian Orakpo who was drafted number 13 overall earned from the Redskins.

As it was reported earlier today, Moreno and his agent have decided to leave the group of picks 8-11 who were holding out because of Michael Crabtree and his ludicrous contract demands. Nonetheless, Moreno still remains in Georgia as the Broncos highly publicized practice in Invesco Field is set to begin.

If the deal gets done tonight as Adam Schefter is suggesting will happen, it would be likely that Moreno would be in Denver for tomorrows a.m practices. He would at the least make the ones later in the day.

Stay tuned to Bronco Madness for the latest updates on the Knowshon Moreno holdout among other news during training camp. Also check out twitter page out for more info!

Looking forward to the deal and Moreno’s play, a BIG deal indeed! But what are possible pros and cons if it gets done??

Well, it’s pretty simple. If he gets signed now, he has to recover from the missed time and learn the playbook in more time. The con is that the quicker we sign him, the more likely it is for the Broncos and him to have giant contract disputes if/when he becomes a star and wants HUGE money.

YES!!! FINALLY! Let’s get him in camp quickly so he can learn the playbook!
