Bubby Brister Opening Denver Camps.

July 10, 2009

Picture 1Super Bowl winning Denver Bronco Bubby Brister, who during 1998 played in John Elways absence and didn’t lose a single game is opening up two football camps in the Denver Area. The first camps he has held in the Denver area, will teach the fundamentals of the Quarterback position as well athletic development for children ages 10-18.

The athletic development will teach speed and conditioning, core strength, stability, flexibility and nutritional consulting. The first camp will be held on July 28 at Highland Heritage Regional Park (Field B) in Littleton and the second camp will be held on July 29 at Cornerstone Park (Field 7 Northeast) in Englewood.

Bubby Brister after John Elways’ retirement fought Brian Griese for the starting Quarterback job but lost during the pre-season. This is widely considered to be one of Mike Shanahans greatest blunders as Brian Griese never reached his true potential and many people thought Bubby Brister could have brought us back to the Super Bowl again.

I am a Pittsburgh Steeler fan who recently moved to the mountains west of Boulder. We loved Bubby when he played for Pittsburgh, and had to laugh every time he attempted to give an interview. The man was bleeped more than he spoke. Nice to see someone give him his due, especially during the 1998 season. A real solid quarterback. Definately not an Elway or Marino, but more than a salvagable QB to be sure.
