Marshall Asked Bowlen For a Trade

June 15, 2009

Adam Schefter who will soon move his work to ESPN, from NFL Network still seems to understand the pulse of the NFL and even on leave right now from NFL Network, he still proved just how much he knows.

Today in a Monday morning segment with 850 KOA in Denver, Schefter said that Marshall asked owner Pat Bowlen to be traded during their Friday meeting. The irony? Adam Schefter was also the man who broke the story on Jay Cutler and how he had been shopped.

We will have more coming because honestly, I need to calm down a bit before I begin to write anything else.

UPDATE: There is currently talk about sending him to Baltimore, where they are currently looking for an elite receiver. The deal that is currently being speculated is a 1st rounder and a 3rd rounder in exchange for him, since Roy Williams was traded to the Cowboys for a similar deal last season.

In my opinion there is no way that he will be in Chicago because right now the Bears have nothing they could trade expect for maybe another first round pick, but do you really expect that McDaniels would accept that?

Man, i’m getting tired of this nonsense. We can’t keep moving in this direction and expect to win. Unless we trade him for a top notch receiver, i wouldn’t trade him.

i agree trublu. one other thought would be to bundle him and a 2nd rounder for anquan boldin and darnell dockett assuming that they both want out of arizona.

I really would hate to see him go, but if he’s not happy with Our team, I agree with the Boldin trade, but other than that, I would rather he be benched to teach him the principle of how he’s treated the situation. Pay Casey Weigman a bigger contract to show, ‘this is how you negotiate your contract… First, you show up!’

Disappointed with the selfishness. At first I thought he was being very professional by not ‘leaking’ anything to the media…. We can only wait and see. Thanks for the post Garrett!

“”Yes there was a meeting between Brandon, and Mr. [Pat] Bowlen. There was a request for a trade. Mr. Bowlen has said that ownership will do everything in it’s power to accommodate his wishes,” McGuire said.”” -nfl.com [McGuire is Marshall’s agent]
