Marshall Wants To Restructure Deal.

May 29, 2009

Picture 4Right now according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post, Brandon Marshall is targeting restructuring his deal with the Denver Broncos. He does not appear to be holding any leverage right now and is not holding out from training camp but has still requested they work a new deal out.

The Broncos though denied his request presumably because Marshall is “recovering from hip surgery and is still facing thorny legal issues involving his former girlfriend.”

While it make sense that we do not want to do this right now assuming that there are a lot of ifs and buts Josh McDaniels and Brian Xanders need to tread very lightly. McDaniels has screwed enough up and if he handles this as poorly as he did the Jay Cutler situation he will immediately lose mine and many other Broncos fans support.

When asked if him leaving for Orlando was a powerplay, Harvey Steinburg, Marshall’s lawyer reportedly answered:

“Brandon is not a holdout. He went back to Orlando so he could continue rehabbing from his surgery.”

Another reason that the request could have been denied is because Rasheeda Watley, Marshall’s former girlfriend will be speaking out to ESPN this week on a segment that is supposed to be aired this Sunday. She reportedly plans to be going forward with her already fishy domestic violent charges which I have kept a close eye on.

Honestly, I don’t think it is ESPN’s business getting into this and it is pretty low. Save that for TMZ.com or some other trashy news source looking for only personal gain. This battle needs to take place in court, not on Network Television. Steinburg as you would assumed denied all this accusations and even added this:

“We advised ESPN that we had considerable documentation as proof that refutes the allegations. We were told we would have the opportunity to present those live, on camera, and they reneged on their offer.”

So it looks like we will have more Brandon Marshall coming this summer and keep it here at Bronco Madness to learn it all!

I love Brandon Marshall but he chose a terrible time to ask for a restructure. Honestly, this will be just another dumb move by him and probably end up with a worse move by Josh McDaniels. In my opinion, the Broncos are doomed for a 4-12 season and we won’t improve because our draft pick is the Bears who will only have a successful season. We are screwed.

marsh messed up (and messes up) and needs somebody to help him out but they should stay out of it. These are not the kind of stories espn should be doing.

I saw that segment on espn i believe rasheeda watley. Apparently there was 1 incident where her and marshall got into a fight and after it she try t0 leave in a taxi but marshall block the driveway so she couln’t leave. And after the first time he was caught the broncos reportledy called watley parents and told them it would be nice if she drop the charges against marshall. And just back in march he was arrested for allegedly getting into fight with a fiance a michi Nogami-Campbell a different woman its pretty obvious to me that’ your boy marshall has a problem living with women.

There is no doubt that this is partly his fault. But what ESPN failed to mention was that she tried to blackmail money out of Marshall, at first sent an email to Roger Goodell when they were together, saying that he did nothing. Maybe the most strange thing was when she showed up to the police station with bruises all over her face. The next day she decided to file a case at the courthouse, she had no bruises left. I don’t know, but this is certainly not black and white.
