Travis Henry In Trouble… Again.

May 19, 2009

Okay, now this is just starting to get ridiculous. Former Broncos tailback Travis Henry who was recently convicted in a Montana cocaine trafficking case and still contending with several legal complications stemming from having fathered 11 children by 10 women as we reported earlier this off-season.

But of course, he can’t stay away from trouble and was arrested today by U.S. Marshals in Auburndale, Florida, according to Jeremy Maready of the Lakeland Ledger.

According to Maready the reason is because a violation of the release agreement relating to his Montana drug case. Henry pleaded guilty to one count of cocaine conspiracy with intent to distribute. A hearing has been scheduled for 3 p.m. to discuss the case, said a U.S. Attorney’s Office spokeswoman.

Henry, who was a Broncos tailback in the 2007 season was signed to a big contract after playing for the Tennessee Titans and was expected to revamp our running game. After multiple violations of the NFL’s Substance Abuse policy though, his reputation was destroyed and he was eventually cut.

For those of you who are frequent readers at the site, we have been following his run-ins with the law very closely long after he was cut by the Broncos. Really, we are just happy for some news.

He would not fit the spread offense AT ALL. besides it will take him a year to start full time and he is totally out of shape. Besides, if McD thought Cutler was a bad character guy do u really expect him to lay his hands on michael vick?

no no he shouldn’t start this year (unless our QBs REALLY stink) we let him get back in shape and get back into the game, and serious kyle orton do’n the spread offense? it would work better to do eye with peyton as FB and Knowshon as HB and eddie, bmarsh and tony and vick and do boot legs and whatever – dude he has changed he needs a second chance and i doubt he’s TOTALLY out of shape after playing prison football and i’m sure he’ll get a training and start getting in shape

Travis has made a true clown of himself, which is sad as a Tennessee Vol fan. He seemed like such a talented and decent person while he was here. At least apparently in his case, fame and fortune seemed to destroy him.

That is the problem with today’s athletes. they think they are above the law and better than everyone. they have been coddled and not had to answer for the things they’ve done. look at how many have been in trouble over the past 5 years or so. It keeps climbing every year. these athletes are overpaid and are wrongly looked up to by young children. It’s a shame that with athletes antics that kids grow up hating police, who put their lives on the line everyday, and adore these criminals that lack respect for everyone else. They think they are gods but they are not. I for one am sick of these athletes and have no use for any major league sports any more. We have our priorities screwed up. We pay ridiculous amounts of money to arrogant athletes while police officers, firemen, medics and teachers don’t get paid squat in comparison while holding the more important positions that a sports figure. It makes me sick.
