Mile High Salute w/ Mike Koele: Rulon Davis, Defensive End

May 11, 2009

Rulon Davis, Defensive End out of California

If you didn’t realize already I am going to be running down some of the rookie free agents we picked up during the off-season.

First off I will say that I really, really like Davis. The former Marine and junior college player ended up at Cal where he really stood out. He has day one talent and I am not sure why he did not go later in the draft, possibly his age (he is 25) as well as his battle with injuries. It was almost meant to be, he was named after former Bronco Rulon Jones!

Davis comes in at 6’5″ and 281 lbs. and certainly looks like he could be a solid weapon on the line. I am anxious to see him battle in camp, Denver needed more front 7 help so he will get his shot to make the roster. He is a special player.
