Darius Walker Signs With Broncos

May 7, 2009

Darius Walker as of this evening signed with the Denver Broncos according to Drew Rosehaus’s Twitter account. Walker a running back for two years in Houston was a popular running back out of Notre Dame who shocked everyone when he was not drafted.

Walker who I saw play against the Broncos in 2006 was excellent and ran for over 40 yards and a touchdown in limited time on the field. Previously this season I was suggesting that they traded for him as a potential backup running back.

Adding him to our stable of running backs really excites me and I feel as if he will make the Practice Squad at the least. He will certainly have competition though.

Walker is the Broncos’ eighth running back, joining with Knowshon Moreno, Correll Buckhalter, J.J. Arrington, LaMont Jordan, Peyton Hillis, Ryan Torain, and undrafted rookie Kestahn Moore. Expect only 3 or 4 of them to make the roster with Hillis as a fullback.

It surprises me that they picked up another running back, but we do know that Denver likes having many rb’s on the roster.

very true. It does not surprise me though only because he is a perfect system running back.
