Travis Henry Pleads Guilty in Drug Case

The “wonderful” post-NFL life of Travis Henry took another downward turn today, as he pleaded guilty to trafficking cocaine. Henry, a Broncos running back during the 2007 season, was arrested last October for his involvement in a drug ring that was trafficking cocaine between Colorado and Montana.

Today, in Billings, Montana, Henry pleaded guilty to a single count of conspiracy to possess cocaine with intent to distribute. This is just the latest in a series of troubles for Henry, who has also been involved in a case relating to his inability to afford his child-support payments.

“I was involved in an agreement with other people to possess and distribute at least five kilograms of cocaine,” said Henry. Henry will remain free on a $400,000 bond until his July 15 sentencing date. He could face up to 10 years in prison but we can expect somewhere in between 6 and 9.

It’s truly tragic that a guy with that much talent would throw his life away…
