Brandon Marshall Has Undergone Hip Surgery

Brandon Marshall

Is everything just falling at the seams? According to the Denver Post, Broncos Wide Receiver Brandon Marshall has undergone hip surgery. We will lose him for the rest of the off-season until late July, right around the beginning of training camp. The pains in his hips started to appear late in the season when he was trying to separate himself from defenders but he has not needed hip surgery until this point.

The surgery was performed by Dr. Marc Phillipon, who has been dubbed “the hip doctor to the stars.” Phillipon, who works out of the renowned Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Vail. He has done surgery on some sports greats like Alex Rodriguez and Kurt Warner.

The Denver Post said that “He still earned his first Pro Bowl appearance by finishing with 104 catches for 1,265 yards —his second consecutive season of at least 100 catches and 1,200 yards.

Marshall may have trouble reaching those milestones for a third consecutive season as he could be facing a season-opening suspension and he most likely won’t have Jay Cutler as his quarterback.”

First I would like to say: I do not think he will be suspended. Nothing bad happened and charges were dropped so quickly it would be wrong to suspend him. If you are considered innocent or are getting in no legal trouble, I just think that it isn’t fair to suspend a player for an extended period of time and while I don’t like Goodell, I don’t think he is that stupid.

Also, how does Marshall manage to be totally healthy during the regular season but miss the entire off-season? Remember the arm injury last year? I am having a bit of trouble for getting it was so insane. Madness. Pure Bronco Madness. (Thanks Horvil Tiki. Very funny.) Could this off-season be any worse?
