Andra Davis Coming To Denver???

According to the Denver Post’s Mike Klis, the Broncos have engaged in serious negotiations with former Browns Middle Linebacker Andra Davis and are nearing an agreement. He might even be in Denver as we write this but that has not been confirmed.

A starter in Cleveland, Davis, 30, is an inside linebacker from the 3-4 system who was second on the Browns with 90 tackles last season and has averaged 103 tackles the past six seasons.

If you ask me he is one of the more underrated players in the Free Agent Pool and would immediately be an upgrade at Middle Linebacker. He is a good tackler who if put in a decent system could be a Pro Bowler.

My one problem with him is the age factor. He is at the age of 30 and might only have another 2 starting years in him. That said, he could still play for up to 3 or 4 years as the second Middle Linebacker in our 3-4 Defense.

UPDATE: While they are supposedly just in serious negotiations we hear they are nearing an agreement. The deal in an update by the Denver Post is that it would be either a 2 or 3 year deal which we feel would be appropriate for the player.

ANDRA DAVIS IS NOT A GOOD MLB JUST A VETERAN PRESENCE THAT CAN FILL GAPS BUT HE OFTEN GETS BEAT AT THE POINT OF ATTACK AND MOST OF HIS TACKLES WERE MADE DOWN FIELD.
