Day 3: Final NFL Combine Notes

February 23, 2009

Aaron Curry Dominated Todays 40 Yard Dash

It has been an interesting day to say the absolute least for the combine as two big name players have walked off the field for the day with injuries. Both Rey Maualuga and Brian Orakpo both got injured today on their 40 yard dashes. Don’t worry though because it hurts neither stocks. We have known of these injuries for a long time and the running just re-hurt them.

Lawrence Sidbury had an excellent 40 yard dash time, clocking at 4.64 in the official results leading the entire group of Defensive Linemen for the day. Followed by him were Connor Barwin, Brian Orakpo, Everette Brown, Michael Johnson, Stryker Sulak and Victor Butler.

For the Linebackers, two Wake Forest prospects led the groups. Number one of course was Aaron Curry with a beautiful 4.56 and he was followed by his teammate Stanley Arnoux who had a 4.61. Clay Matthews and Brian Cushing were other notables that ranked highly in the 40 yard dash.

Terrance Taylor did a very good job on the Bench Press where he seemed almost inhuman. He was repping very quickly until up to about 31 where he started to struggle. Even so, he ended with a dominant 37 reps. He must be getting a bit of attention from scouts after that.
