LJ To Denver?

February 4, 2009

Larry Johnson

Larry Johnson recently announced that he has shown some serious interest in leaving Kansas City. LJ was at one time one of the best running backs in the league and there has been some speculation of a trade to Denver.

The idea of having a former Pro Bowl Running Back in the greatest running system in the NFL has to get a few people excited and LJ might make a great Offense even better. If you do not remember he manhandled us the first time we played him last year and we might now trade for him.

During an appearance Wednesday on 610 Sports Radio, Johnson said he thinks it’s time for him and the Chiefs to “break ties.” He says his departure would allow the Chiefs to find “what they want, and I can try to go on and rebuild my career and find what I want.”

Chiefs spokesman Bob Moore said there was nothing that came out of the interview that hadn’t been talked about before. Johnson said in December he felt he had no future with the Chiefs. Johnson has had quite a downfall over the last couple of years and with our Running Back need you have to question if he might find some success with us.

So Bronco Maniacs, are you in favor of this? Do you think that LJ is the right guy for Denver and could rejuvenate his career here. Anything is better than what we have, right? Or is he too much of a risk? Is he not right for us? Please duke it out in the comments.

I think he’d be a bust, plus I LOVE Peyton Hillis. But I would love ot having to face him twice a year.
