Bates Leaving For USC!

January 19, 2009

Jeremy Bates

Well it was pretty obvious that Jeremy Bates would be leaving with Josh McDaniels as the new coach and now we know where he will be going. Today Bates officially announced that he would leave the Denver Broncos to become the Assistant Head Coach of USC according to the National Football Post.

Bates, a six year NFL veteran, has spent the last three years in Denver as the quarterbacks/wide receivers coach.  Prior to joining the Broncos in 2006, Bates worked for the New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Jeremy Bates has been a great coach for the Denver Broncos and is a young rising star. I could see him in about 5 years being an NFL Head Coach even. Jay Cutler will still probably be upset about Jeremy Bates leaving as they have a close friendship.

I wish Bates the best of luck on his future endeavors and maybe in a few years he could come back to Denver and be our Offensive Coordinator. Again best of luck and while I would like him to stay with us he should achieve his full potential and this will only help it.

We will have more on this story as it develops, until then keep it here on Bronco Madness for the best Broncos scoop on the web!
