Spagnuolo Still In It?

January 11, 2009

Steve Spagnuolo right with Tom Coughlin

As of just a few minutes ago the Giants fell to the Eagles in the NFC Divisional Playoff Round game. That means that Steve Spagnuolo will be available to any offers as the head coach of a new team. We have pointed out multiple times that the Broncos may pass over Spagnuolo because the wait would be too long to get him.

With the Giants upset though, that changes. The Broncos no longer have a reason to pass over him unless of course they just don’t think he is up to the level as Josh McDaniels or Leslie Frazier who are currently thought of as the favorites to fill the current vacancy.

In this case we can probably guess that the decision on who will coach us may be delayed a little while when it was previously thought we would find out this weekend.

Personally I think that with this Giants loss we have narrowed it down to 3 candidates instead of 2. Pat Bowlen is a sneaky man and will never completely count out Steve Spagnuolo until the decision is finally made. Until then enjoy today’s playoff games. The Steelers and the Chargers will be playing in a few minutes so make sure you tune in.

actually he is one of them. they are morris, frazier, mcdaniels, garrett, and spagnuolo. Dennison and Bowles were both counted out and Stoops showed no interest in the job.
