Ex CSU OT Signed By Broncos

January 2, 2009

This morning the news was announced that the Broncos have signed Colorado State Tackle Clint Oldenburg to a contract with the the team. Here is the article via Rocky Mountain News:

The Broncos signed former Colorado State tackle Clint Oldenburg to a reserve/future contract, the team said Thursday.

The 6-foot-5, 300-pound Oldenburg competed in training camp with the New York Jets this season and spent the final 10 weeks of the regular season on the St. Louis Rams’ practice squad.

Oldenburg, who also played tight end and guard at CSU, was a fifth-round pick (No. 171 overall) by the New England Patriots in the 2007 draft.

He has played in two NFL games, both last year with the Jets.

The native of Sheridan, Wyo., will be added to the Broncos roster at the end of the season.

Hey, why not? I’m just not sure why we are going after tackles instead of Running Backs or Linebackers. The versatility will be nice if we face injuries at either Tackle, or Tight End. Not exactly exciting, but if the coaching staff likes him, who cares?
