Clady, Kuper Hope To Be Ready For Buffalo

December 18, 2008

It came as a surprise to a lot of us to see two of our Linemen go down after they have been the only position to stay healthy all season long. Both Ryan Clady and Chris Kuper were both limited in practice but are hoping to be ready to play against the Bills on Sunday.

Head Coach Mike Shanahan said the players will need to practice in order to play. “We’ll find out over the next couple of days,” Shanahan said. Rookies Tyler Polumbus and Kory Lichtensteiger are listed below both players on the depth chart and would likely start if either or both players can’t go.

Polumbus and Kuper Drill

I am sure they are both decent but the thought of two rookies who have taken a lack of snaps in the NFL replacing two of our best Linemen sort of scares me even against the Bills weak pass rush.

“It’s just sore,” Clady told reporters Wednesday. “I should be able to play.” Kuper also said he was hopeful to play Sunday. Clady hurt his ankle on the last play of Sunday’s game and Kuper is an arm cast like the one that he wore during Training Camp.

While I would like to see some more play time from Lichtensteiger I do not want to see it this way. Our healthy and talented line has been a key component to this team and I do not want to see them be gone for what may be so far the most important game of the season.
