Hillis Is Walked Off The Field - ESPN.com

It seems at this point that things can not much get much worse for our Running Back situation. Yet another Denver Broncos Running Back is out for the season and this time it is one of my favorites, Peyton Hillis.

After an earlier report that he would be out for possibly a month, things are looking much worse. It turns out that Peyton Hillis will be out for the rest of the season after being sent to the Injured Reserve.

Hillis this week injured his hamstring during the Kansas City game after a great catch that ended with him being walked off the field. It scared us all and our worse fears it seems are coming true.

As for replacements Tatum Bell looks like the current starter and he might work with P.J Pope. Corry Boyd a Practice Squader who will soon be upgraded to the active roster could possibly see some field time. Another less likely possibility is that Spencer Larsen gets some time at Running Back. But if that is the case I am not sure who would play Fullback.

It should be interesting what happens but all we can hope is that someone is able to step up again. All I can say is “Tatum Bell, get ready!”

What a killer blow. Hillis was looking so solid. Sure, I am excited that he’ll be around next year (imagine him lining up as FB with another threat at RB?)…but what do we do in the meantime? I am not sold on Tatum Bell taking us anywhere in the playoffs. Maybe Boyd will see some time on the field?

I don’t think Boyd would come before P.J Pope. He showed that he could run the ball a bit earlier in the season. I still think that we will see Young be back before the Chargers game. He could still hopefully help us improve our run game.

I think Tatum can hold up, he nearly broke one last week, plus – Spencer may be pretty good (IF, we give him a shot) with Mike Shanahan expect what NOBODY on earth expects to happen with Denver’s RB situation – and that’ll happen! 🙂

And btw Garrett, the photo on BM is awesome, will that be a thing for future more photos one the site – or was that just a picture that found it’s way on the site?

Yeah we will have more photos on the site. I decided it would make the front page look cooler and also the posts in general.

The site looks pretty cool. Though the little snow flakes make my browser a little choppy…Firefox 3

As for Pope, isn’t he still dinged up as well? I assume they’ll be working out whoever they can find today in Dove Valley?

Probably but I think word is that Pope is healthy again and ready. I only think that Tatum Bell can handle around 15 carries a game. Expect the rest to be split with Boyd and Pope.
