Saturday’s Horsing Around With Jon Krause (On Sunday)

December 7, 2008

Well, Bronco Madness is FINALLY back! Haha, anyway, with the site back, Saturday’s Horsing Around is also back. Except on Sunday. Weird… 🙂 Today’s will serve a game preview which includes the Passing Case, Rushing Case, and ‘D’ Case. So, here we go!

Week 14, Sunday 4:05 pm – Broncos vs. KC

Lest we forget last time…Week 4, the Chiefs had not won, we were undefeated, and they killed us! Now 10 weeks later we’re 7-5 and they are 2-10, wow same thing. Let’s hope things turn out different. With the probable return of Champ Bailey this look better, IF the Raiders had beat the Bolts, we could have clinched the division this week, but the Raiders did not so, we’re back to taking it one game at a time. A don’t really like doing math for football, it should not be played like that (don’t get me wrong I love stats and stuff).

Here’s the Injury Report:

Denver Broncos

Doubful: LB D.J. Williams (Knee)

Questionable: DT Ebenezer Ekuban (Back); S Marlon McCree (Ankle); CB Champ Bailey (Groin); FB/LB Spencer Larsen (Groin/Hip)

Probable: G Ben Hamilton (Wrist); FB Peyton Hillis (Hip); WR Brandon Marshall (Hip); DT Kenny Peterson (Achilles); RB P.J. Pope (Ribs); DT Dewayne Robertson (Knee); LB Nate Webster (Knee); RB Selvin Young (Groin)

Kansas City Chiefs

Out:LB Donnie Edwards (Hamstring/Knee); CB Patrick Surtain (Quadriceps); WR Mark Bradley (Calf)

Questionable:G Adrian Jones (Ankle); LB Pat Thomas (Hamstring)

Probable:DE Tamba Hali (Ankle); C Rudy Niswanger(Ankle); G Wade Smith (Ankle)

Did you know that the Broncos have won the last 3 on the road, and lost the last 3 at home! That’s so very sad, especially for us. Come’on Bronco fans show up at Inveco @ Mile High and help the Broncos get back on their winning home ways. In a resent press conference B-Marsh stated the obvious: ” [we’ve got a] nasty taste in our mouths, That is personal always, the rivalry we have there, The things they did to us at the beginning of the year.

They are a good team. Their record doesn’t show it, but we definitely have a challenge coming up on Sunday.”I am so glad the Broncos finally think like that, back in week 4 we were over confident, and did not take them seriously, now hopefully they know it’s not who you play, but when you play them. I won’t jink us, but since 2001 when Invesco@ Mile High was finished the Chiefs are 0-7 in “OUR HOUSE”. Another interesting note is, our offense is ranked 2nd! Behind the Saints and Drew Breese, and KC’s ‘D’ is ranked 32nd, but they’re not much worse than our ‘D’ either, and stats don’t really mean anything – ESPECIALLY in rivalry games.

Passing Case: KC – Tyler Pigpen haha I had too, Tyler Thigpen 🙂 has 155 completions, 1,739 yards, 13 TD’s, and 8 INT’s. Not too bad. Fav target – Tony Gonzalez has 73 catches, 806 yards, and 6 TD’s. Broncos – Jay Cutler has 273 completions, 3393 yards, 21 TD’s and 13 INT’s. Fav targer – BRANDON MARSHALL, who has 72 catches, 942 incredible spun, and junked, ran, anddove for yards. Along with 4 little, come’on don’t we all think he should have WAY more than that! What’s up with him the past few weeks? Winner – The Broncos Win the passing case with ease.

Watch out for Jay KC, and Denver WR’s please hold the ball with 2 hands! And by the way, EDDIE ROYAL ROCKS!

Rushing Case: KC – LJ has 143 carries, 657 yards, and 4 TD’s, lead blocker (FB) I don’t really know, am not gonna find out, and nobody cares. Broncos – Peyton [Should go to the Pro Bowl] Hillis has 60 carries, 285 yards, and 4 TD’s, and a .2 more yards than LJ with 4.8 a carry. Lead blocker (FB) does not really have won, but sometimes Spencher Larsen goes in, and he’s very good. Winner – PEYTON won just because I love him, plus I really think right now he’s better than Johnson.

‘D’ Case – Wow, a tale of two stink’n D’s, did you know that the AFC West has the WORST defenses in the NFL! KC’s ‘D’ is ranked 32nd in yards, but they are very good in turn-overs (for ‘D’ anyway) and they have 6 sacks (LOL) and 10 INT’s.

Bernard Pollard leads the team with 69 tackles. The Broncos ‘D’ aint so hot either, ranked 29th in points allowed, we have 5 INT’s (we REALLY gotta work on that!) and 22 sacks which is not too bad, kinda good. Even though he has missed I can’t even remember how many games, D.J. Williams still leads the team with 77 tackles. Winner: Really hard to call, I guess I’ll give one to KC.

Till next week, Go Broncos!!!
