Scouting Report: Sam Bradford

November 6, 2008

Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma

Strengths: Works well in the shotgun … Can make big plays with both short, and long passes … Plays well under pressure … Very accurate all around the field … Impeccable decision making … Good height and weight … Puts up big numbers … Tall and athletic … Will make an immediate impact … Will move in and out of the pocket well.

Weaknesses: While athletic, is not elusive … Has never played with a weak Offensive Line … Has a “system QB” tag … Struggles on throwing way down field … Might need to work on his 5, 7 step drops.

Overall: I have very little concerns with Bradford now that he is going to play another season and have basically 3 straight years of experience. In my opinion, if he plays even close to the way he played last year he will be drafted no lower than the 2nd pick. Actually, Bradford is my favorite QB to enter the draft since Carson Palmer and will one day be one of the best QB’s in the NFL.
