Culpepper’s Future Is Not In Denver

October 26, 2008

After multiple rumors were released suggesting that Daunte Culpepper may find his next home in Denver, they turned out to be not true. Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that the Broncos will not be signing Culpepper, at least not for now.

On the other hand we are going with our original plan. Practice Squad QB Darrell Hackney will be advanced to the 53 man roster after Patrick Ramsey has been put on the injury reserve.

Hackney had a decent Pre-Season performance but has never taken a snap in the NFL Regular Season. Previously he had been with the Browns.

It’s still possible that the Broncos will consider a veteran quarterback, especially if  Jay Cutler were to get injured. But for now we are good with the QB’s we have.

I like Darrell Hackney but I do not think that he should be a backup QB with Jay Cutler experiencing a minor finger injury. I guess as long as Cutler is okay it will not matter but it still makes you cringe a bit at the thought of it.
