Exclusive Draft Profile: Knowshon Moreno

October 26, 2008

Today we are getting to make a profile for one of my favorite players in this years draft class. In a year where Running Backs may be the best they have been in ages, Knowshon Moreno is my favorite of the group. Here is his exclusive draft profile.

Knowshon Moreno Runs For Daylight

Name: Knowshon Moreno

Position: Running Back

School: Georgia

Height & Weight: 5-11 / 208

Class: Sophomore (RS)

What I Think: Knowshon Moreno is by far one of the most electrifying Running Backs I have seen in years. I mean more than Adrian Peterson, Darren McFadden, and even Reggie Bush. And you want to know what, he should not even apply this year. Moreno has amazing natural running ability with excellent balance and agility. In a year where Running Backs are some of the best in ages Moreno does not want to get lost in the wave of players like Chris Wells, C.J Spiller, Javon Ringer and James Davis. In my opinion, any one of those players in most years could be a top 10 pick. Players like Spiller and Ringer may end up being second rounders. Why on earth then, should Moreno make him subject to not being picked as high as he could be because a player such as Wells or Davis ends up being picked higher. Moreno is my favorite of them but are not most scouts favorites. This year, he gained a season-best 172 yards and scored a touchdown on 23 carries in win over No. 22 Vanderbilt earning him SEC Offenisve Player of the Week honors. Moreno tied a career-high with three rushing TDs vs. Georgia Southern gaining 59 yards on eight carries and added 53 receiving yards on two receptions including a career-long 37 yard catch. In 2007 his first ever season he became the first Bulldog since Herschel Walker in 1982 to rush for 100 or more yards in five-consecutive games when he totaled 124 yards and a TD on 22 carries vs. Kentucky. He is very accomplished and in my opinion is one of the best backs I have seen in ages. He will become a star and rock the NFL whenever he chooses to enter the NFL.

Draft Grade: A

Whoa, great draft profile, the best I’ve seen so far…
But one thing, it’s not to hard to be better than the over-rated Darren McFadden, and Reggie Bush. Reggie can be sweet, and I like him, but Darren aint that great and I doubt he ever will be…

I still think McFadden is good but the team he has been stuck with has hurt him. Another thing I did not mention that could affect when he applies is Matt Stafford. If Stafford stays until his Senior season Moreno would be smart to stay as well and make a run for the title.

G, it’s to bad that collage players don’t really think about that and all…
The just go with the flow, but maybe IDK

I think he’d be smart to wait for his senior year

i never would have dreamed we’d draft him
