Awards of All Sizes

September 16, 2008

Who in the world would say that Brandon Marshall’s performance was only o.k. He was phenomenal all day and brought the same spark to the Broncos offense that he always seems to. This is especially impressive after he came back from a suspension.

So I think that it is only fair he won the AFC Offensive Player of the Week 2 MVP Award. Well it obviously was because he did win it according to NFL sources.

Marshall’s selection as AFC Offensive Player of the Week marks the first such award of his three-year NFL career. He sure deserved it after tying for the second most receptions in a Regular Season game and finishing only two away from stealing Terrell Owens record.

There has not been a Denver Bronco for a little while to win the award. He too was a Wide Receiver. The last person to win it was Rod Smith in 2005 (Week 15 at Buffalo) which I am proud to say I attended.

Jay Cutler for the second week in a row was nominated for an award. This week it was the FedEx Air Award. So go on over to NFL.com and vote for him! Maybe this week he will win after coming in second last week to Donavon McNabb.

He was nominated along with Kurt Warner and Aaron Rodgers. If you read my article on Cutler, Rodgers, and Ryan being the future of the NFL you will know to expect Rodgers and Cutler competing in this award a lot in the near future.

Coach Shanny is also running for Coach Of The Week.
What year was the Bronocos and Bills game? I went to the one in ’05, that was an away game…but closer to me 🙂

That would be the one. I lived in Connecticut for years and went when they would play the Jets or Bills. Patriots was too far a ride from me. Didn’t hear about Shanny, he will win.

Oh man that’s so cool, we were at the same game…
Too bad I did not know you then…
