BM Exclusive Draft Profile: James Davis

August 31, 2008

Sorry for the delay of Draft Profiles guys, I was hoping to start again when the college football season began for us. Today we are breaking down James Davis a RB from Clemson who had a star studded Junior season but his first game this year wasn’t so hot.

James Davis Dives For A TD

Name: James Davis

Position: Running Back

School: Clemson

Hight & Weight: 5-11 / 215

Class: Senior

What I Think: When I was working on this draft profile a couple of days ago I was going to call him a possible spoiler for players like Knowshon Moreno and Chris Wells for the title of number 1 Running Back in the draft. Then he and Clemson played Alabama and he did not show much. It was a terribly weak performance as he averaged only 2.2 yards per carry over 6 of them. Davis should just hope that he will improve immensely over these next few games or he could go from 1st round draft pick to un-drafted rookie. See this is the year of the Junior Running Back and Davis came in to the league as one of the few seniors that could play better than them. In his career he has had 3,143 and 36 Touchdowns from a Freshman to a Junior. His Sophmore season was absolutely amazing as he racked up highs in both rushing yards and rushing Touchdowns over less carries than his Junior season. All in all James Davis came in this season as top dog and could be going out in the dog house.

Draft Grade: B+
