Kirk Wright Found Dead

May 26, 2008

The name Kirk Wright may not be familiar to a lot of people and yet he represents one of the darker parts in Denver Broncos history.

Kirk Wright was a con artist who tricked multiple Broncos including Steve Atwater and Terrell Davis to give him money. He was convicted of Wednesday by a federal jury of bilking $150 million from thousands of clients.

Yesterday he hung himself in Union City, Ga., jail where he was awaiting up to 71 years in jail.

Wright started a hedge fund in 1998 where he enlisted Steve Atwater to help recruit clients. Atwater invested 2.8 million dollars into it. Later Terrell Davis and Rod Smith would invest money into it as well.

They found out that some of the money was being used on luxury items such as cars for Wright himself. They fired back with a lawsuit.

But Wright has now been found dead and if anymore important news pops up we will be sure to report it.

Yea, there’s lots of news that should be poppin up here. Start with the intricate web of conspirators and complicitors in this crime that reached across race, class, and economic status. Forget the shit about the deep-pocketed investors. Hedge funds are scrapping the bottom of the barrel and going after retirement funds. Stop protecting this industry. The scam is way bigger than this man. God bless his family.
